The UR-2 is a single rack-space, 2-track recorder with two SD card slots plus a USB host connector. It offers continuous ‘Chain Play' recording/playback among the different media, for the recording of long lectures, services, rehearsals, or sermons without interruption.

It offers digital audio recording resolution up to 24bit/96kHz, for critical musical situations. When the bit rate and sampling frequency are set at 16bit/44.1kHz, The UR -2 can record over 3 hours with a 2GB SD card, and offers 99 Cue points per file, which are used to locate an important scene transitions and critical song location points. Future software updates will allow the MP3 playback and recording

The microphone input located on the front panel (which can be Phantom-powered) can be mixed with the playback sound from the SD card or USB storage device, and the user can adjust the mix balance. This is useful to add voice-overs to programmed background music.

The UR-2 recorded files (BWF format) can be easily imported to a DAW for editing purposes, via mounting the SD card/USB storage device, or by the high-speed transfer via the USB 2.0 port provided on the UR-2. The ‘Memory Play' mode offers instant start of the audio so that there is no delay upon pressing the button. The UR-2 can take a fader start command from the mixing console to aid the operator's task and avoid missed cues. A USB keyboard or Ten-key keyboard can be used as a remote controller and for file naming.
